After they confirm their subscriptions, your autoresponder can deliver instructions for getting the free product you promised.
Simply continue to add great content to your blog, continue to not sell anything, and continue to give away free stuff for email addresses. Test different headlines and offers and get your static page to convert higher and higher.
As you build your list, you can then offer either your own products or affiliate products.
In summary, it all comes down to conversion. Traffic is great, but if you can’t convert that traffic into people that join your list, you won’t be building a list and as a result, you won’t be building a business.
